Again, I do not hate his performance or the concept. I laughed. It is funny. I am just saying the WAY he said it can be found insulting as what he SAID suggested that the average human, let alone a civilization, could not survive without “smart people” and would not be able to adapt.

I do not hate Rogan, I do not hate his work, and I do not hate what he said. I am simply saying it could have been worded better than it was. That is all. Please do not make this more than it is.

for fuck sake buddy, what hes saying doesnt have to be politicaly correct, he said it, we get it , its funny ,thats all there is to it, no fucking need to go on about how he said it wrong or any shit like that, who gives a fuck if ” it can be found insulting” .
If you insulted to fucking bad.

I’m not trying to have a bitter argument, I was just discussing the point you made, isn’t that why people make comments under videos? To discuss their ideas on the video? I see your point about learned knowledge and intelligence being different, but the word “smart” can be interperated in different ways. Some define smart as knowing a lot of facts, while the more formal definition would be the potential to understand. Stand up comedy is informal enough for the casual meaning to be used.

I am also trying to avoid some huge, and ultimately pointless, argument.

It is true that the term “intelligence” is an undefined word. It is purely explained through opinion. However, He made the mistake of taking learned facts and used it as the comprehension process of the brain. He simply worded it wrong if you consider learned facts and process comprehension different parts of “intelligence”, which ultimately I do. That is all I wanted to point out. Continue on with your lives. :D

    To Kasey107,

The first part of your comment stated EXACTLY what I have been saying from the beginning.

Jokes are determined entirely on performance. In order to make some jokes funnier than they otherwise would be, some use of hyperbole is needed. I understand that. In his use of exaggerations, he MISUSED a concept that could be found insulting to some people. I do not find it insulting, but there are people who would, as the joke in itself is degrading the entire human race.

    I do not care.

I was simply pointing out the mistake in his wording. That is all. I meant no harm from it. I am sorry you feel obligated to “correct my correction” in his rant. However, It is shown in your comment that I have no need to point out such needless matters such as this. I felt that I would express my rights of the 1st amendment to help “better” the view of the human race. If you’re offended by this intention, “to fucking bad”. Stop wasting my time and don’t reply back.

Most of us are reasonably intelligent and most of the people we call dumb aren’t really dumb, they’re just ignorant. They’ve been let down by a lousy education system that simply loaded their brains with a pile of useless information while at the same time NOT teaching them how to use their brains.
Education should teach us how to think rationally and critically instead of doing the opposite.

I know what makes a light bulb bright but I have no idea how to make one. No idea about cameras. Microchips? I know how it looks and what is does but how to make one?
Face it, we really are stupid.

His hypothesis would be proven though… Education or learned facts are managed and coordinated by “intelligent” people (teachers, deans, principals, legislators, etc…).

Without these intelligent people - devolution would set in quite quickly and people would be forced to “rediscover the Earth” as Joe said (or learn facts of nature). So I think Joe knew this distinction you’re mentioning when writing this material.
